I updated the fw to 11.018 and its still very slow, the camera is slightly better but the phone is slow and relpying to sms is not improved. The phone still restarts for unknown reasons,in web browser if you open a picture file and it displays a file not found message(fair enough file was not found) but it won’t let you open any further pictures until you restart the program, this phone is so slowwww, how come it doesnt have a zoom option in the photos app?

I agree with above, it says all what I noticed in N96, and the proof is that I searched phrase “N96 Slow” in Google, I wished I have seen this before purchasing N96!
Adding to the above; N96 is slow in photo browsing, sound is poorer than N95 but louder (which is annoying to good listener) and music player slower pause/play, in general the phone is only look nice!
Too late, I live in country with jungle rule, otherwise I was suing Nokia.

Hey,
Ive purchased an N96 in the UK and the software version I’ve got is v10.065 only…but Nokia’s updater says that Im current - clearly not, given that we are up to v11.018.
Is there a way I can force the phone to update, or would I cause myself problems, becuase its in some way specific to UK networks or something…?
If so, how?!

Milamber, actually not all firmware updates are compatible specific country models. There could be a reason why UK mobile keeps denying to update the firmware. Don’t force it, just keep checking whenever there is a release if its available for you. Sometimes there are country specific firmware upgrades.
