N96 GPS System
Nokia is predicting that they will sell 35 million GPS phones this year, which includes the much awaited Nokia N96. This prediction indicates that GPS and navigation/location services will play an important role in N96.
We all know N96 has some great added features to its predecessor N95 such as Quadband EDGE, DVB-H Class C & 16Gb Internal Memory. On top of this an in-built GPS on N96 would be great.
Nokia has been extremely active at adding GPS into their latest N series phones including N95 and N82.
Nokia recently acquired of Navteq (a leading GPS system manufacturer).
We are wondering how this would come into play in N96 GPS system. Nokia has not made it abundantly clear how it will bundle Navteq’s services into its own, especially given that it already has a branded Maps application of its own.
Lets quickly look back to the GPS used in N95. Hopefully more details are out soon on N96 GPS system.

N96 should have better GPS system and of course more downloadable GPS softwares should be available soon. The important thing is GPS maps for each country.

Just bought a N96 - Great multimedia - poor GPS, virtually no signal constantly. If you want sat nav - get a tom tom or proper sat nav!

Thanks tony for your feedback. I got one too and noticed that GPS kinda sucks. Seems like we gotta get one GPS software.
