Nokia N96 launched in India TODAY
In the most shocking move ever, Nokia has formally launched Nokia N96 in India and it’s set to hit all large and small mobile stores across India from Monday. The launch happened in New Delhi, India’s Capital City. This is confirmed by our sources on the ground.
Nokia wanted to launch N96 before the iPhone 3G is launched in India. The N96 was initially set to launch first in the UK on the first of October. But Nokia seems to have changed their plans and are launching it in India.
Nokia wants to minimise the effect of iPhone 3g Phone set to be launched soon in India. The whole hype around 3g iphone will not be moved to Nokia N96 in a big way. This should have direct impact on iPhone 3G sales. We estimate the price to be somewherearound Rs. 36,000 Rs.40000 (Approx USD $900 to 1000).
With this move, Nokia again demonstrated that they take Indian mobile market as one of the most promising and high priority. They made tremendous sales since last few years in Indian sub continent and they clearly do not want iPhone to spoil their established market.
We will update you more once we get some updates from our insider reporters.
