N96 GPS System

March 26th, 2008

Nokia is predicting that they will sell 35 million GPS phones this year, which includes the much awaited Nokia N96.  This prediction indicates that GPS and navigation/location services will play an important role in N96.

We all know N96 has some great added features to its predecessor N95 such as Quadband EDGE, DVB-H Class C & 16Gb Internal Memory. On top of this an in-built GPS on N96 would be great.

Nokia has been extremely active at adding GPS into their latest N series phones     including  N95 and N82.

Nokia recently acquired of Navteq (a leading GPS system manufacturer).

We are wondering how this would come into play in N96 GPS system. Nokia has not made it abundantly clear how it will bundle Navteq’s services into its own, especially given that it already has a branded Maps application of its own.

Lets quickly look back to the GPS used in N95. Hopefully more details are out soon on N96 GPS system.

Samsung G810 Vs Nokia N96

March 19th, 2008

The Samsung G810 was announced at the Mobile World congress is making waves. People have already started comparing it with Nokia N96.

People believe Samsung G810 has significant features and has capability to give touch fight to Nokia N96 which is all set to be launched in August 2008. The Nokia N96’s main new DVB-H feature might not work in all countries. It depends on your mobile operator. If uour mobile operator can stream content, DVB-H is a great addition to N96. Overall N96 still looks upbeat over other phones        coming up  in the market.

However we can’t ignore Samsung G810. We got a video of Samsung G810 from  Mobile World Congress.

Nokia N96 To be launched in August 2008

March 10th, 2008

According to UK retailer The Carphone Warehouse, Nokia’s N96 - which it announced at the Mobile World Congress is expected to launch by August 2008.

As we discussed earlier, N96 is the predecessor of N95 potentially replacing the current 8 GB version of Nokia N95, bringing the styling up to date with Nokia’s current range as well as adding DVB-H mobile TV, a dual-LED flash and clever kick-stand to prop up the handset while watching TV and video.

That’s actually a good news for N95 buyers, as the launch date of n96 comes closer, N95 will eventually become even cheaper.  We must agree that Nokia N95 was the most perfectly built phone by Nokia till date. Lets keep Nokia n96 for a surprise till august 2008.

Nokia N95 has it all, You name it you can do VOIP on N95, you can use SIP (session initiation protocol). We assume all the functionality related to VOIP and SIP will continue to be maintained with same ease in Nokia N96.

N96 should be VOIP / SIP compliant and popular Mobile voip operators such as FringTruphone should extend their reach to Nokia N96 pretty soon enuff. So by september, VOIP on N96 should not too hard to target.

Lets look forward to August 2008. We at The Nokia n96 will keep you updated with the latest news and happenings about this cool new gadget coming along your way.
